After watching the movie Okja, I seen how corporations create GMO and process the foods. The process may not be exactly the same as the movie, but to know the USDA approved to sell genetically modified organism stirred my soul. We don’t know if it is apart of the causes of disease, sickness and whatever other health issues. Companies that are selling GMO foods are in it for the money.
GMO processed food is a science project for money. Living organisms such as animals are genetically modified in laboratories under extreme conditions, slaughtered and then sold to the public. You are what you eat. GMO can be found in fruits, veggies, meat, potatoes and more. The USDA has approved a “new science that creates unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacteria and viral genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.” (http://livingnongmo.org). Watching that movie and seeing how they do animals is making me go Planted-Based.
The only way to stay away from GMO is eating organic foods. Consumers can look for a seal of approval, check the sources and more to confirm if it is organic. According to USDA policy, GMO is prohibited in Organic foods. Clean, healthy food are considered to be expensive for low income earners or those who are jobless. It’s like they are forced to eat unhealthy because they can’t afford the healthy foods.
